Spring is the perfect time of year to start a “spring cleaning” tradition. Spring is a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. It’s also the perfect time to get organized and declutter your home.
Spring is a season of rebirth and renewal, so it’s only natural that we want to give our homes a fresh start as well. Spring can be an excellent time for organizing your home, taking care of unfinished projects, or just getting rid of clutter that has been collecting dust all winter long.
You can get started with spring cleaning by tackling one room at a time. If you’re not sure where to start, think about what has been bothering you the most lately – maybe it’s your cluttered kitchen countertop or the pile of clothes on your bedroom floor that needs washing? Step 1 – Declutter Your Home
The first step in decluttering your home is to decide what you want to keep. This is the hardest part because it’s easy to get attached to things that we don’t use anymore. The best way to get started is by sorting your items into three piles: “keep,” “donate,” and “discard.” Once you’re done sorting, you’ll have a much easier time going through the rest of your process. Step 2 – Declutter Your Wardrobe
These days, it seems like everyone is talking about decluttering their wardrobe. I’m here to tell you it’s possible! You could start by organizing your closet into seasonal wear. You can find tons of tips online, but sometimes the best way to tackle something is to break it down into manageable chunks and tackle it one at a time.
So break out your boxes of clothes, shoes, and accessories into piles so you know what you want to keep. If you’re unsure where to put something or how to categorize it, ask yourself: “Would I wear this in the next 3 months?” If the answer is “I don’t know,” then you can choose to keep it in the throw pile since you’ll probably not wear it again.
Step 3 – Organize Your Dining Room Table
Most of us hold on to things for purely emotional reasons, like the wedding china you may be hoarding. It’s time to bring it out and start using it.
Keeping things in their pristine packaging is definitely not the reason why we might buy stuff. It gives a lot more satisfaction to actually use the thing we might be hoarding for “special occasions”.
At the same time, dining tables often end up being a catch-all for the house. A routine clean-up of things that don’t belong but have mysteriously ended up in the dining room will help to declutter and keep the room neat. It also saves you from having to feverishly clean the dining area at the last moment before your dinner guests arrive!
Step 4 – Declutter Your Garage or Basement Area
I’ve been a professional organizer for over 20 years, and I still find myself struggling to keep up with the clutter that accumulates in my home. It seems like one of those things that just never goes away. The best way to get started is to start small. Pick an area, like your garage or basement, and start there. Once you’ve decluttered it, move on to the next area of your home while maintaining the changes you made in the first area. . Don’t think about the big picture. Just focus on how to declutter one area of your home.
Step 5 – Declutter the Rest of the House
Decluttering is not just about getting rid of the things you don’t need. It’s about making your space feel more comfortable and inviting.
We all know that decluttering is important for adults, but it can be just as important for kids too. This article will give you some tips on how to declutter a kid’s room in 10 minutes or less.
You can declutter your kid’s room with these helpful tips:
- Remove all the unnecessary items from their rooms -Sort clothing into piles (to wear, to donate, etc.) -Organize books by genre and age group
- Sort toys into piles (donate, storage etc)
- Scrub away any grime or dirt on their walls and floors
- Clean windows
